Larry And His Flask

Larry and His Flask stormed Europe with an epic tour for nearly two months. For a few dates around England and Ireland they toured with Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, warming up crowds with some rocking bluegrass.
I first heard about LAHF through Frank Turner after they did some shows together in the US. People told me to make sure I see them live because that is where the magic happens. Then came Birmingham 24.04.13 and my eyes and ears were opened to Larry And His Flask. I think it took me a couple of songs to take one photo as I tried to size up what I was seeing!
Jamin Marshall, drums, and Jeshua Marshall, double bass, giving Birmingham a good seeing too... 24.04.13.
They've got a great range of personalities onstage, and are a blast to photograph. They are all frantic, a band I would easily label as "nought to sixty". That's a real challenge for me as I tend not to use flash in my live photography. I rely heavily on stage lighting, and with fast movement in low light it's easy to miss a great moment like a bass getting lifted over a head or some little interaction between band members.
I hit up three nights with them in Birmingham, London, and Dublin. The lads were great to hang out with and shoot, I'm looking forward to hitting the road with them properly in the future.
If you haven't yet had the pleasure of seeing LAHF live and want to check them out, here's a video I shot with them at the London Forum.
